Preview: IceHogs Take On Wolves Sunday Afternoon
Rockford, Ill- The Rockford IceHogs take on their in-state rival, the Chicago Wolves today at 3 p.m. at the Allstate Arena. This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams.
Comeback Kids- The IceHogs staged a third period comeback Friday night against the Manitoba Moose to snap a four-game losing streak. The Moose took a two-one lead in the third period but Rockford responded when Cole Guttman buried a rebound to draw the IceHogs even. With just under seven minutes remaining, Gerry Mayhew got a redirection off of a Brett Seney shot to give Rockford the lead. Goalie Mitchell Weeks would shut the door late and help the IceHogs secure the win.

The Arty Party- Artyom Levshunov collected an assist on the IceHogs first goal Friday night. The assist extended the 19-year-olds active point streak to five games. Levshunov scored his first AHL goal against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Nov. 8. The 2nd overall pick from this past summer now has five points in his first eight games with Rockford.
Last Time Out- The IceHogs and Wolves began their season series back on Nov. 2 and the BMO Center where the Wolves narrowly took a 3-2 win. All three Chicago goals came within the first ten minutes of the game. Seney and Mayhew scored for Rockford, but the IceHogs could not find the tying goal despite outshooting the Wolves 11-2 in the third period. Goalie Ruslan Khazheyev made 21 saves for Chicago in the win.
