It’s Not You, It’s Me: Wolves & IceHogs Take a (Brief) Break
After battling the Wolves in four consecutive meetings (Mar. 27-28, Apr. 3 & 7), the IceHogs took a break from their in-state rivals with a trip to Des Moines, IA to battle the Iowa Wild on Wednesday. The IceHogs opened the game scoring early in the first period thanks to Josiah Slavin’s third goal of the season, but the Wild shook off the early deficit to rally back for a 4-1 victory. Now the IceHogs will see Wolves in the next two contests starting tonight and wrapping up on Wednesday, Apr. 21 in Hoffman Estates.

Layman’s Terms, Griswold!
The IceHogs have seen the Wolves in four of the last five games and after next Wednesday’s meeting, will have seen them in six of their last seven contests. The IceHogs are 1-6-0-0 in the head-to-head series vs. Chicago.

Close Calls vs. Chicago
In four of the seven meetings this season (1-3-0), the IceHogs and Wolves have battled in one-goal games with the Hogs prevailing in the most recent contest, 4-3, on Apr. 7 at BMO Harris Bank Center. Overall, the IceHogs are 6-3-1-0 in one-goal games this season.

I Feel the Need, The Need for the Lead
Both the IceHogs and Wolves have been unstoppable so far this season when carrying leads after the first and second periods. The IceHogs are 3-0-1 with the lead after the first period and 3-0-0 after the second. The Wolves are 9-0-0 when leading after the opening 20 minutes and 14-0-0 after two periods.

Slavin Carries Career-Starting Point Streak to Four Games
Forward Josiah Slavin extended his professional career-opening point streak to four games on Tuesday with the IceHogs’ lone goal at Iowa. Over his first four pro games, Slavin has three goals and two assists for five points.

Give Me Five, Show Me You’re Alive
Slavin’s four-game point streak is tied for the longest streak by an IceHogs skater this season. Defenseman Cody Franson registered a four-game streak (two goals, four assists) from Mar. 16-28, forward Dylan McLaughlin had points in four-straight games (two goals, five assists) from Mar. 13-22 and forward Reese Johnson racked up three goals and three assists for six points over four games from Mar. 7-27.

The Rockford IceHogs open a three-game road trip on Wednesday, Apr. 21 with a stop in Hoffman Estates, IL to battle the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. The journey continues with back-to-back contests against the Iowa Wild in Des Moines, IA on Friday, Apr. 23 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Apr. 24 at 6:00 p.m. Watch all of the action LIVE on AHLTV and 23.2 Antenna TV WIFR (home games)!
