IceHogs and Wild Clash for Final Time Tonight in Des Moines
Des Moines, IA – After clinching a playoff spot with a win over the Manitoba Moose on Saturday, the IceHogs fell to the Iowa Wild 5-3 on Sunday. But tonight the two team’s face off for the twelfth and final time of the regular season at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, IA at 6:00 p.m.

Playoff Picture Panning Out
The IceHogs clinched the playoffs on Saturday with a win over the Manitoba Moose. On Sunday, they fell 5-3 to Iowa, which kept the Wild’s playoff hopes for that fifth and final spot alive. But last night the Texas Stars defeated the Moose to officially clinch that last spot, leaving Iowa out of the playoff picture.
Reichel New Record Holder
Despite the loss, with two assists on Sunday against the Wild, Rockford IceHogs forward Lukas Reichel became the greatest rookie scorer in team history, netting his 52nd and 53rd points of the season and passing Vinnie Hinostroza’s 51 points during the 2015-16 season.
Altybarmakian Heating Up
With playoffs right around the corner, IceHogs forward Andrei Altybarmakian has picked the right time to find is groove. He comes into tonight on a five-game goal streak and 10 total on the season. His most recent goal came in the first period of Sunday’s game when he fired a shot from center ice that Wild netminder Zane McIntyre missed with the glove hand.
