The Chicago Blackhawks have activated right wing Patrick Sharp from Injured Reserve and have recalled defenseman Jordan Hendry from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Sharp, 27, has missed each of the Blackhawks’ last 16 games while on Injured Reserve. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native led Chicago with 23 goals and held sixth on the club with 38 points in 54 games when he was placed on Injured Reserve on Feb. 18. Sharp led the Blackhawks and shared 13th in the NHL with a career-high 36 goals last season, the third consecutive year he increased his goal total (14, 20, 36), while ranking second with a career-best 62 points.

A veteran of 330 NHL games over parts of seven seasons, Sharp is two goals shy of reaching 100 in his career while also collecting 173 points during his tenure with the Philadelphia Flyers (2002-05) and Chicago (2005-present). He has notched 88 of his 98 goals and 158 of his 173 in a Blackhawks uniform.

Hendry, 25, started the season with the Blackhawks, posting four penalty minutes in the team’s first eight games before being assigned to Rockford on Oct. 26. The Nokomis, Saskatchewan, native has recorded eight points (3G, 5A), 37 penalty minutes and a +7 plus/minus rating in 43 games with the IceHogs this season. Last season, he made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks, posting four points (G, 3A) and 22 penalty minutes in 40 contests.
