The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that right wing Craig Adams has been claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Adams, 31, appeared in 71 games over parts of the last two seasons with Chicago, recording 12 points (4G, 8A) and 46 penalty minutes, which includes two goals, four assists and 22 penalty minutes in 36 contests this season. Adams was originally acquired by the Blackhawks from the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 17, 2008, in exchange for a conditional draft choice in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
A veteran of eight NHL seasons, Adams has appeared in 498 career games, racking up 89 points (37G, 52A) and 383 penalty minutes.
