Mitchell, Kalynuk, Carlsson, Johnson and Entwistle Return to Chicago Blackhawks; Regula, Pirri and Hakkarainen Back with IceHogs

ROCKFORD, IL – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, announced today that defensemen Ian Mitchell, Wyatt Kalynuk, Lucas Carlsson, and forwards Reese Johnson and MacKenzie Entwistle have been re-assigned from the IceHogs to the Blackhawks taxi squad. Forwards Brandon Pirri, Mikael Hakkarainen, and defenseman Alec Regula have been re-assigned to the IceHogs.

Mitchell, 22, made his AHL debut on Saturday at Chicago and recorded an assist yesterday against the Wolves. In 32 games with the Blackhawks this season, the St. Albert, Alberta, native scored two goals and two assists for four points.

Kalynuk, 23, fired in a goal and an assist in the two games this past weekend vs. Chicago and overall has 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in eight games with the IceHogs this season. The Brandon, Manitoba, skated in one game with the Blackhawks this season, his NHL debut on Mar. 7 against Tampa Bay.

Carlsson, 23, added an assist last weekend in two games and has two points (one goal, one assist) in five total appearances with the IceHogs this season. The Gavle, Sweden, native played in 12 games with the Blackhawks (one assist) this year.

Johnson, 22, picked up a goal on Saturday at Chicago and has six points (three goals, three assists) in eight games with the IceHogs this year. The Regina, Saskatchewan, native suited up in five games with the Blackhawks this season and made his NHL debut on Feb. 15 vs. Detroit.

Entwistle, 21, made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks last Tuesday (Mar. 23) vs. Florida and holds six points (two goals, four assists) in 12 games with the IceHogs this season.

Pirri, 29, registered three points (two goals, one assist) in two games with the IceHogs this season and appeared in one contest with the Blackhawks (Jan. 13).

Regula, 20, holds three points (two goals, one assist) in 11 games with the IceHogs.

Hakkarainen, 23, has appeared in six games with the IceHogs this season.
