Former Hogs contributing for Hawks against Canucks

Chicago, Ill.- Just a few nights ago the Chicago Blackhawks were three minutes away from falling into a 3-1 series hole against the Vancouver Canucks. A late game-tying goal by Martin Havlat In Game Four changed that and now tonight the Hawks can send the Canucks home for the summer with a win at the United Center.

After their 4-2 win in Game Five on Saturday night, Chicago leads the best-of-seven Western Conference Semifinals 3-2. Tonight’s Game Six starts at 8 p.m.

Former Rockford IceHogs skaters Dustin Byfuglien and Dave Bolland tallied three of the Blackhawks four goals in Saturday’s 4-2 win, setting up the potential clincher tonight. Bolland has four goals and six overall points in the series’ first five games.

Byfuglien has been a force in front of Roberto Luongo through the series and was finally rewarded on Saturday with his first points against the Canucks in the Western Conference Semifinals. In 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games Byfuglien has six points.

The game tonight can be seen on Comcast Sports Net and heard on WGN Radio 720 AM.

The winner of the Blackhawks-Canucks series will take on the winner of the Anaheim Ducks-Detroit Red Wings Western Conference Semifinals series in the Western Conference Finals. Detroit leads that best-of-seven series 3-2.
