Collins and Daoust released from their PTO’s

Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Magnus Johansson from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Forwards Martin St. Pierre and Michael Blunden have been assigned to Rockford.

Johansson, 34, is being placed on the Blackhawks roster for the second time this season. Earlier this season, Johansson appeared in 17 games for the Blackhawks, picking up four assists and four penalty minutes.

St. Pierre, 24, appeared in the Blackhawks 5-2 victory over Nashville on Dec. 26, earning 7:40 in ice time including 2:04 on the power play. St. Pierre is the IceHogs’ leading scorer, having appeared in 29 games, scoring 13 goals, to go along with 26 assists for 39 points.

Blunden, 21, played 7:51 in the Blackhawks 5-2 win overNashville on Dec. 26, playing 2:47 on the penalty kill. In 32 games this season forRockford , Blunden has 9 goals, while adding 15 assists for 24 points.

In other IceHogs news, IceHogs General Manager Al MacIsaac announced that Rockford has released forwards Dusty Collins and Jean-Michel Daoust from their respective PTO’s.

Collins appeared in two games with Rockford including Wednesday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Peoria Rivermen. Collins will return to the Arizona Sundogs (CHL) where he has 26 points in 26 games played.

Daoust was loaned to Rockford on Thursday from the Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) and appeared in Thursday night’s game in Chicago against the Wolves. Daoust is the second leading scorer in the ECHL racking up 40 points in 28 games.
