Des Moines, IA – Forward Josiah Slavin extended his personal point streak to four games (three goals, two assists), but the Rockford IceHogs (7-13-1-0) fell to the Iowa Wild (10-9-4-0) 4-1 at Wells Fargo Arena Tuesday evening.

Game Summary

Slavin kicked off the game scoring 3:26 of the opening period, sneaking away a shorthanded goal between the legs of Wild goalie Dereck Baribeau (W, 27 saves on 28 shots) with help from defenseman Michael Krutil. Wo;d forward Damien Giroux responded at 9:03, knocking at rebound under the pads of IceHogs netminder Cale Morris (L, 29 saves on 33 shots).

In the second period, the Wild pulled ahead and took a 3-1 lead through 40 minutes with markers from Will Bitten (9:00) and Mason Shaw (12:50).

The Wild locked down defensively in the third period, limiting the IceHogs to six shots to preserve the victory. Reigning AHL Most Valuable Player Gerry Mayhew sealed the game with an empty-net marker at 16:33.

The IceHogs went 0-for-1 on the power play while the Wild wrapped up the game 0-for-3.
