SECOND ANNUAL BLACKHAWKS CONVENTION SOLD OUT

Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that the second annual Blackhawks Convention at the Chicago Hilton and Towers (720 S. Michigan Ave.) from July 17 to 19 is sold out.

“The second consecutive sellout demonstrates the unique connection that has developed in recent years between Blackhawks players and their fan,” Blackhawks Senior Vice President of Business Operations Jay Blunk said. “We stand in appreciation for the unprecedented support this year by our great fans in Chicago and all over the world. The upcoming convention provides the setting for our players and alumni to personally thank fans for leading the National Hockey League in attendance in 2009”.

For the second consecutive year, both current Blackhawks players and alumni will be in attendance throughout the weekend, which will include autograph and photo sessions, Q&A sessions, exhibits, interactive games and much more.

Scheduled to attend are 2009 National Hockey League All Stars Brian Campbell, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews, 2009 Calder Trophy Finalist Kris Versteeg and most members of the current squad. Alumni scheduled to attend include Hall-of-Famers and team ambassadors Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito and Denis Savard along with former greats Tony Amonte, Dennis Hull, Jim Pappin, Pierre Pilote, Murray Bannerman, Bob Probert and Steve Smith, among several others. For the second consecutive year, Blackhawks and national television analyst Eddie Olczyk will serve as honorary chairman.

The 2008 Chicago Blackhawks Convention at the Chicago Hilton and Towers from was the first of its kind in the National Hockey League and entertained over 10,000 fans.
