Returners Cates and Hayes Among Group Sent to Rockford
Rockford, IL - The Chicago Blackhawks today announced the following transactions:
- F Jackson Cates - Released from PTO, assigned to Rockford (AHL)
- F Gavin Hayes - Assigned to Rockford (AHL)
- F Martin Misiak - Assigned to Rockford (AHL)
- G Stanislav Berezhnoy - Assigned to Rockford (AHL)
The IceHogs Training Camp roster grows to 30 players (nine defensemen, 18 forwards, and three goalies). Players will be added to the Rockford training camp roster during the remainder of the Chicago Blackhawks' preseason schedule.
This batch of players assigned includes Blackhawks 2022 3rd-Round draft selection Gavin Hayes. The forward spent the entirety of his rookie season last year in Rockford, snagging 15 points (5g,10a) in 50 games.
Also included in the transactions is forward Jackson Cates who returns for a third season in a Hogs' uniform. The 28-year-old brings with him 20 games of NHL experience and resigned with Rockford over the summer.
