Palmer rejoins Brahmas
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs have returned goalie Joe Palmer on loan to the Texas Brahmas (CHL).
Palmer, 21, is fourth in the Central Hockey League with a 2.54 goals against average and has a 6-3-2 record with a .912 save percentage in 13 appearances with the Brahmas.
The Yorkville, New York native is in his first professional season after three years at the Ohio State University. He was the #96 overall (round 4) pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
The netminder joined the IceHogs in Cedar Park on Friday and served as the team's backup in Rockford's 4-2 loss to the Texas Stars. Palmer was filling in for Dan Cloutier who was serving a one-game league suspension.
