LOTS IN STORE FOR HAMMY AND HAMMER

You can catch both Rockford IceHogs’ mascots out and about this weekend.

Hammy and Hammer will be joining the IceHogs Booster Club for the 2010 Winnebago County Relay for Life at the Clocktower Resort. The relay lasts from about 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. on Saturday. Both mascots will be there Friday evening.

And the IceHogs front office staff will be at West Middle School on Friday as part of Heartland Community Church's annual Sharefest. This summer, the IceHogs will be helping Sharefest rehab one of Rockford's oldest schools, West Middle School.

The fun continues on Saturday, when Hammy will head to Arlington Park Racetrack at 2 p.m. for their annual Mascot Day. Hammy will race other mascots on the racetrack and join in other exciting activities.

On Tuesday, Hammy will join members of the IceHogs staff at Blackhawk Boys and Girls Club at 3 p.m. as part of the Rockford IceHogs' Summer Street Hockey Initiative. The day will feature a floor hockey clinic.

On Thursday, Hammy will travel to the Monroe Pool in Monroe, Wis. for Mascot Day. In addition to swimming, there will be food, activities and fun.
