Who/What: Defenseman
Duncan Keith will join youth hockey players, ages nine to 12, as they compete in the “Ace’s Got Skills Challenge”.
When: Tues., Jan. 13, 2009, from 4:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Keith will be available from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.
Where: United Center (1901 W. Madison in Chicago)
Event Information: The “Ace’s Got Skills Challenge” allows Squirt and Pee Wee age youth ice hockey players to test themselves against their peers from around the country in the same skill set as the National Hockey League All-Stars, including hardest shot, accuracy shooting, breakaways, fastest skater and best goalie.
Players are separated into House and Travel divisions and compete within their own age group. Winners advance to the National Finals to compete as representatives of the Blackhawks against winners in all other NHL “Got Skills” markets.
Keith, a 2008 NHL All-Star, currently ranks second among league defensemen with a +22 plus/minus rating and holds second among Chicago blueliners with five goals, 20 assists and 25 points in 40 games.
