ICEHOGS TO CROWN MR. BROVEMBER

Ice Hogs Primary Logo

Rockford, Ill. – As the calendar turns to November the Rockford IceHogs are kicking off a “Brovember” tournament to crown a Mr. Brovember and raise funds and awareness for men’s health.

Starting with a clean shave today, 10 IceHogs players will compete in the tournament by growing, or attempting to grow, mustaches for the entire month. The players will be placed into a Brovember bracket with four rounds until a Mr. Brovember is crowned in the final round.

Each round will feature the players competing head-to-head to move on to the next round. Fans can get involved by voting for the player’s ‘stache (or lack thereof) that they like best by commenting on their photo on the IceHogs Facebook page (www.facebook.com/RockfordIceHogs).

Voting will also take place at every IceHogs home game in November. Donation bins will be set up for each player on the main concourse and fans can make a monetary donation for their favorite players. Proceeds from the Brovember tournament will go to Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center.

Of course the IceHogs encourage fans to join in the fun and participate in Brovember as well. Any fan sporting a mustache or beard of their own will receive a $5 discount on tickets for the IceHogs game on Wednesday, Nov. 27 against Milwaukee.

About Brovember
Because of the popular trend of Movember and no-shave November – facial hair has become synonymous with the month of November and bringing national attention to men’s prostate cancer. Locally, Brovember Beard-A-Thon has become an annual fundraising event that gives participants an opportunity to ditch the shaving routine and get in touch with their inner Grizzly Adams. The Brovember Beard-A-Thon is a one-of-a-kind event that gives everyone an opportunity to participate through their actions and words, as participants’ band together to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancer initiatives in the our community.
