ICEHOGS SPREAD TEDDY BEARS, HOLIDAY CHEER IN ROCKFORD
Rockford, Ill- In the midst of the holiday season, the Rockford IceHogs are giving back to the community and hoping to make the festivities a little brighter for many in the Rockford area.
After the IceHogs annual Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 3, more than 1,200 bears were sorted and delivered to local hospitals and non-profit organizations, including Maya’s House, Carrie Lynn Children’s Center, WAVE Remedies, the OSF St. Anthony Foundation and the Salvation Army.
In addition, numerous IceHogs players and coaches made trips to Rockford Memorial and SwedishAmerican hospitals to personally deliver stuffed animals to children in the pediatric wards.
Hammy also made deliveries in the community, visiting the Mother House Crisis Nursery and Meld, where he handed out teddy bears and joined in on the children’s Christmas parties.
