Rookie played in nine games, netting three goals

Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced Thursday that winger Judd Blackwater was released today from his PTO agreement with the Rockford IceHogs.

The Lethbridge, Alberta native appeared in nine games for Rockford tallying three goals and nine PIMs. Blackwater will return to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. In 12 games with the Thunder, Blackwater recorded seven points (2g-5a).

Blackwater signed his professional try-out agreement with Rockford on Jan. 29, 2009. The winger netted his first career AHL goal that night in Manitoba, and added a second in the shootout on the way to Rockford’s 2-1 victory. Blackwater then bumped his AHL goal total to three, scoring twice in the Hogs 6-3 win over Toronto on Jan. 31.
