ICEHOGS ANNOUNCE 2015-16 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced the club’s 2015-16 regular season schedule.

The IceHogs begin their 17th season of professional hockey, including ninth in the AHL as the primary affiliate of the 2015 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, when they travel to San Jose to open the season on Friday, Oct. 9 at 9:30 p.m. The IceHogs open the home portion of their schedule the following weekend when they host the Texas Stars for the first of back-to-back meetings on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

All individual game tickets will go on sale on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.

Rockford’s 76 game 2015-16 campaign is highlighted by 10 Saturday night contests at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The longest homestand of the season spans eight games from January 12 to January 29.

Overall, the IceHogs face-off against Central Division rivals Chicago Wolves, Iowa Wild and Milwaukee Admirals 12 times each, while seeing the Charlotte Checkers, Grand Rapids Griffins and Lake Erie Monsters eight times a piece, and the Manitoba Moose four times. The San Jose Barracuda and Stockton Heat are the newcomers to the schedule as the IceHogs will faceoff with each club twice.

Unless noted, all home games will be played at 7 p.m., excluding Sunday outings which will get underway at 4 p.m. Rockford will play two home matinees in 2015-16 including Monday, Jan. 18 (1 p.m. vs. Lake Erie) and the annual School Day Game on Wednesday, Feb. 17 (10:30 a.m. vs. Manitoba).

Rockford’s first two contests to open the 2015-16 season will be firsts for their opponents. Both the San Jose Barracuda and Stockton Heat are entering their inaugural season in the AHL and will host the IceHogs for their first ever game.
