Hjalmarsson played one game with Blackhawks during two-day recall
Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Thursday that defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson was being returned on loan to the Rockford IceHogs (AHL).
The blue-liner played in one game with the Chicago Blackhawks, totaling 14:57 minutes on ice without recording a point or penalty against St. Louis on Wednesday. Hjalmarsson has appeared in two games with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2008-09 and 15 between his first two seasons in North America.

In 31 games with the Rockford IceHogs in 2008-09, the Eksjo, Sweden native has recorded one goal and nine assists with 41 penalty minutes.


Next Home Game: Friday, Jan. 23 vs. Iowa Chops. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs open a two game home stand before a lengthy road trip when Iowa comes to town. The IceHogs welcome Blackhawks legend Denis Savard to the game and the first 2,000 fans to the game will receive an IceHogs 10th Anniversary poster courtesy of Pepsi, Speedway Auto Mall, Johnson Press, Rasmussen College and Stanley Steemer.
