HAMMY'S FUN-FILLED WEEKEND

Ice Hogs Primary Logo
Rockford, Ill. - Look out for Hammy as he will be all over town this weekend. The Rockford IceHogs mascot will kick off his weekend at the Peanut Butter Rally in Rockford on Friday.

The 5th annual Peanut Butter Rally is an opportunity for fans to make a donation of peanut butter jars or make cash donations to help the Rock River Valley Pantry feed children throughout the summer months. The collection begins at 11 a.m. at 6801 Mill Rd. located by Gerber Collision & Glass. Hammy will be arriving at 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, Hammy will be a part of the Old Settler’s Days Parade starting at Rockton Commons and heading west down Main St beginning at noon. The festival is celebrating our ancestors from the past and a unique way of imagining what they went through on a daily basis. For more information on Old Settler’s Days, visit oldsettlersdays.com

Monday is Mascot Day at the Monroe City Pool. The event runs from 1-4 p.m. and Hammy will be in attendance between 1:30-2:30 p.m. The event includes fun games, activities, food, and meeting Hammy and his friends. The location is at Recreation Park on 1700 22nd Ave, in Monroe, Wis.

Hammy’s busy weekend carries over into Monday with street hockey at Camp I Am Me. The camp is for children that have been victims of fire; whether physically, emotionally or psychologically, to enjoy the day with other children that have similar experiences. The festivities will be going on between 6-8 p.m. This is part of the IceHogs’ “Street Hockey Initiative.”
