IceHogs mascot to make four appearances this weekend
Rockford, Ill.- With the 2011 Rockford IceHogs offseason in full swing, the team’s mascot Hammy Hog is heating up his summer community tour. This weekend, Hammy will be making four appearances throughout the Rockford community.
On Friday morning, Hammy will be at the Children’s Miracle Network event at Wal-Mart on East State St. beginning at 11 a.m. Hammy will be there for an hour and the event runs all day at Wal-Mart.
Saturday features two Hammy appearances in the area. Hammy will be close to home on Saturday morning as he will stop out at Davis Park in downtown Rockford for the Sharefest Fun Run. The Hogs mascot will be at Davis Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. rooting on the Fire and Ice Girls team competing in the Sharefest fundraiser and all other participants.
Later on Saturday, Hammy will be in Loves Park at Rock Valley Federal Credit Union for the organization’s Safety Day. Hammy’s appearance at RVFCU runs from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and he’ll be roaming around the fair meeting and greeting kids and families.
Finally, on Sunday, Hammy’s busy weekend concludes at Klehm Arboretum off of South Main Street for this spring’s Walk M.S. Event. Hammy will be walking with other participants from 8-9 a.m. and signing autographs. The walk benefits the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
