FREE SKATE WITH THE HOGS
IceHogs, Park District offering free outdoor skate at Eclipse Lagoon
Rockford, Ill. – The open skate with the Rockford IceHogs at Eclipse Lagoon behind Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens (1354 N. 2nd St.) originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4 has been postponed to Wednesday, Feb. 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. due to the current ice conditions.
A select number of players, along with friends and families, will be skating on the outdoor rink, which will also have a pair of goals for fans to shoot on. Fans are encouraged to bring: hockey sticks, pucks, and any memorabilia to be autographed, to go along with a pair of their own skates. Only a limited number of skates will be available for rental. The IceHogs will also be accepting monetary donations upon arrival, which will go to charity.
The lobby in the Nicholas Conservatory will be open for fans to warm up and use the restrooms, while the Conservatory itself will be open until 7 p.m. for a reduced $3 admission. There is no makeup date scheduled should the conditions next week prevent the ice from being available.
