ROCKFORD, IL – The Chicago Blackhawks, National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate of the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL), announced today that forward Mikael Hakkarainen has been re-assigned from the IceHogs to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.
Hakkarainen, 23, appeared in six games with the IceHogs this season and two contests with the Fuel. During the 2019-20 campaign, the Helsinki, Finland, native dressed in three games with the Fuel, adding two goals and two assists for four points. He also battled in eight games with the IceHogs last season, his rookie campaign.
The Rockford IceHogs open a two-game series against the Iowa Wild tonight, Friday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moins, IA, and close their 10-game season series against the Wild on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bank Center.
