Blackhawks & Alumni Honor High School Hockey Players Across The State
In conjunction with the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association, the Chicago Blackhawks are proud to announce the recipients of the 2009 Blackhawk Alumni Keith Magnuson Scholarship: Brooke Wittleder (New Trier), Tyler Gregory (Fremd) and David Svac (Neuqua Valley).
In addition, the following students were named to the 2009 Blackhawk Alumni Illinois All-Star Teams:
Boys:
Forwards: Max Talbot (New Trier Green), Chris Cimoch (St. Rita) and Nick Stuercke (Glenbrook South)
Defensemen: Chris Hubbard (Naperville North) and Gavin Farley (Loyola)
Goaltender: Mitch Levinson (St. Viator)
Girls:
Forwards: Meredith Chait (Loyola), Maggi Tyska (Loyola) and Alexandra Krevitz (New Trier)
Defense: Caitlyn Flynn (Oak Park and River Forest) and Melissa Clarke (Naper Valley)
Goaltender: Gabriella Baldassari (Lake Forest Academy).
In addition, Bob Melton of New Trier Green, was named the 2009 Blackhawk Alumni High School Coach of the Year.
The Blackhawks will host a media day for the students at the United Center during the team’s morning skate on Wed., March 3 from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The three scholarship recipients will be honored during the Blackhawks’ March 15 contest at the United Center against the New York Islanders. The Blackhawks Alumni Association has provided students with over 70 scholarships in the past 22 years.
