BACON BITS IS BACK THIS SUNDAY
Catch the show at 9:35 p.m. on FOX 39
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs return to primetime television once again this weekend as “Bacon Bits” makes its way back on the air. The popular magazine-style television show will run on FOX 39 this Sunday, March 9 at 9:35 p.m.
“Bacon Bits” goes behind the scenes of IceHogs hockey and is hosted by WTVO-TV channel 17 Sports Director Scott Leber and Weekend Sports Anchor Vince Conway. The show airs once a month during the season and overall FOX 39 will play seven episodes from November through May.
March’s “Bacon Bits” contains a feature on IceHogs defenseman and team captain Jim Fahey. Fahey was named the IceHogs first ever captain in the AHL during training camp in September.
“Bacon Bits” will look into the IceHogs player introduction video featuring the band Saliva. The piece features reaction from Saliva lead singer Josey Scott to the video and interviews with the minds behind the video Chris Toltzman and Jim Stone.
You ever wonder what IceHogs players eat? Well “Bacon Bits” will fill you in with a feature on Chicago Blackhawks nutritionist Julie Burns. Burns will breakdown the IceHogs’ diet and will reveal what helps keep the IceHogs fresh during an 80-game regular season schedule.
One of the new amenities at the Rockford MetroCentre is the brand new party deck and Arena Club area. “Bacon Bits” will give viewers a peak at one of the best seats in the MetroCentre to watch an IceHogs game from the Hog Heaven area.
"Bacon Bits” will also get down and dirty with the IceHogs. Equipped with latex gloves, “Bacon Bits” will get a first hand look at the IceHogs dirty laundry. IceHogs Head Equipment Manger Jim Heintzelman will fill “Bacon Bits” in on what chores need to be done around the IceHogs locker room.
And a “Bacon Bits” show would not be complete without a Hog Tied segment. This month’s Hog Tied features IceHogs winger Jake Skille.
Next Home Game: Sunday, March 9 vs. Iowa Stars. Game time is set for 4:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Stars drop the puck for the second time in Rockford and fifth time overall. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up IceHogs Poster #5 from Pepsi, MedicineMan and Johnson Press.
