Dates for first two playoff games to be announced
Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs President Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that tickets for the first two home games of the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4.
Tickets can be purchased at the MetroCentre Box Office, at Hogs Headquarters at Cherryvale Mall or over the phone at (815) 968-5222. Tickets will not be available on-line until the two dates are set.
As they did in 2008, ticket prices will increase by $1 from regular season rates due to a league mandated surcharge. The dates, times and opponents have yet to be determined as the IceHogs have five games left in the regular season. The Hogs currently occupy the fourth spot in a tight West Division race.
Next Home Game: Saturday, April 4 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. Game time is 7:05 p.m. The Annual Jersey Auction game is finally here as the IceHogs jump into “The Dark Hammy” jerseys to benefit the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. The first 2,000 fans will pick up a commemorative Dark Hammy t-shirt courtesy of Saturn, Pepsi, Guerilla Graffix, Lincoln Rent-All, 13 WREX and MedicineMan. Also, don’t miss the Stanley Cup as hockey’s most coveted trophy makes its first visit to the Rockford MetroCentre and every fan 18 or older will have a chance to win a 2009 Saturn Sky courtesy of Saturn of Rockford.
Stanley Cup Fact: Once a bottom ring of the Stanley Cup is full, another one of the same size is removed from the top of the base and retired to the Hockey Hall of Fame. See the Stanley Cup as it comes to the Rockford MetroCentre for the first time on Saturday. For tickets call 815-968-5222 or visit metrocentre.com.
