Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League announced on Tuesday that the club has recalled defenseman Ben Youds from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.

Youds, 24, has notched a goal and eight assists in 22 tilts with the IceHogs this season.

The Maple Grove, Minn. native led all Walleye defensemen and ranked fifth on the club in scoring with 34 points (7g-27a) in 43 games during the regular season. The second year pro finished the regular season in Toledo with seven goals, 27 assists and a plus/minus rating of +11. In two playoff tilts with Toledo, Youds has registered one assist.

The blueliner was a 2013 ECHL All-Star Game selection and was named Rockford’s Most Improved Player in 2011-12.

Next Home Game: Friday, April 12 vs. Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. It’s Fan Appreciation Night as Rockford hosts the Chicago Wolves in an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup and for the final home game of the regular season. The first 2,500 fans through the turnstiles will pick up an IceHogs team photo and prizes will be handed out at every whistle.
