WEEK 23 REPORT: ROAD WOES CONTINUE AS HOGS PICK UP 1 POINT

Regular Season Wk23

BACON BITS

The Rockford IceHogs notched one of four possible points last week with a 3-1 loss in Manitoba Saturday and 2-1 overtime defeat by the Moose Sunday. The Hogs have now dropped five of the last six games after winning nine of 11 contests from Jan. 25 - Feb. 20.
The Hogs fell from fourth place and a potential playoff berth to fifth place and three points in back of Texas in the Central Division standings following last week's schedule. Texas, Rockford, Milwaukee and Manitoba currently sit within just four points of each other for the final playoff berth from the Central.
The IceHogs travel to Grand Rapids Friday for their seventh road game of their last eight contests. Rockford is winless over its last five road games with an 0-3-1-1 clip since Feb. 23. The Hogs' last road victory was a 3-2 OTW at Grand Rapids on Feb. 20.
Conversely, the Hogs boast a three-game home winning streak entering this weekend's games at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The Hogs have won eight of their last 10 home games since Jan. 25 with an 8-2-0-0 record at the BMO in that span. Rockford is averaging 3.7 goals/game at home over those last 10 contests, including scoring five goals in each of the last three home games.
Peter Holland extended his point streak to three straight games with an assist Saturday and goal Sunday. He has now tallied six points (3g, 3a) in seven games since making his IceHogs debut on Feb. 20. Overall, Holland has points in 36 of 59 games this season and enters the week tied for seventh in the AHL in scoring with 55 total points (23g, 32a).
Jordan Schroeder also extended his personal point streak to three games with assists in each of the two contests at Manitoba. He leads the team and is tied for 12th in the league in scoring since Feb. 1 with 16 points (7g, 9a) in 15 games. In addition, Schroeder is just four points shy of his career-best total from the 2011-12 season with Chicago.
