WEEK 22 REPORT: HOGS WIN TWO, STAY HOT AT HOME
BACON BITS:
-The Rockford IceHogs won two of three games last week with victories against the Texas Stars and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins...Rockford has now won three of the last four contests and is 4-2-0-0 over the last six games since Feb. 18...The Hogs enter the week ranked sixth in the Central Division and five points in back of a playoff spot.
-The IceHogs converted on a power play in five straight games prior to snapping the streak on Saturday against the Penguins...The Hogs have now scored six power-play goals over the last six games and a combined 10 power-play goals over the last 12 contests.
-IceHogs defensemen scored each of Rockford’s three goals over the first two games last week and have now totaled nine points in the last four games...Hogs blueliners have notched three goals and six assists in four games over that span.
-Goaltender Collin Delia was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 4 after leading the IceHogs to a pair of victories in his two starts last week...Delia turned aside 72 of the 73 total shots he faced and concluded the week a 0.50 GAA, .986 save percentage and the first shutout of his professional career...Delia now leads Rockford in wins and is 11-6-2 with a 2.78 GAA and .901 save percentage in 19 AHL appearances on the year.
-Adam Clendening notched an assist against Texas last Wednesday to set the IceHogs all-time records for both points and assists for a Rockford defenseman...Clendening broke the records with his 135th point and 111th assist of his Hogs tenure...He has tallied points in 15 of 21 games with Rockford this season and leads the team in scoring with 18 points (2g, 16a) since making his team season debut on Jan. 12.
-Anthony Louis tallied points in two of three games last week to increase his team-leading point total to 34 (11g, 23a) on the season...Louis, who is in his first full professional season, is tied for sixth among league rookies in assists and 14th in overall scoring.
UPCOMING GAMES:
Saturday, March 10 | Rockford at Milwaukee (6 p.m.) The IceHogs travel to Milwaukee for the ninth of 10 total matchups against the divisional-rival Milwaukee Admirals. Rockford is 2-5-0-1 in the series thus far, most recently suffering a 4-1 loss at Milwaukee on March 2.
Sunday, March 11 | Rockford at Chicago (3 p.m.) Rockford travels to Rosemont for an Illinois Lottery Cup matchup against the Chicago Wolves. The IceHogs are 3-4-0-0 against the Wolves this season, dropping a 7-4 loss at the Allstate Arena on Feb. 3.
