ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks toady announced today they have recalled forward Anton Wedin from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Wedin, 26, made his North American professional debut with the IceHogs this season, logging 11 points (4g, 7a) in 17 games thus far on the year. He opened the campaign with a season-high three-game point streak from Oct. 12–18 (2g, 1a) and produced a three-point night with a trio of assists Nov. 3 vs. the Chicago Wolves. Wedin departs Rockford with five points (2g, 3a) over his last six games.

The Sundsvall, Sweden native was originally signed by the Blackhawks on May 23, 2019. He set professional highs with 27 points and a team-leading 14 goals in 32 regular-season games with Timrå IK of the Swedish Hockey League last year, before adding nine points (2g, 7a) in seven postseason games.

Spanning parts of eight seasons (2011-19), Wedin played for Timrå IK while the club split time between the SHL and Allsvenskan. He tallied a career-best 18 helpers during the 2015-16 campaign. In 83 SHL games with Timrå, Wedin registered 32 points (18g, 14a). While competing in Allsvenskan, he notched 28 goals and 50 assists in 204 regular-season games. Wedin posted nine points (2g, 7a) in 20 qualification contests during his tenure with Timrå.
