Josh Unice, the Blackhawks’ 3rd round pick (86th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft has been named the OHL Goaltender and Rookie of the Month

Unice is a member of the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. He was named the OHL’s goaltender and rookie of the month after posting an 8-0-0-0 record along with a 1.95 goals against average and .934 save percentage in 10 games during the month on November.

Unice allowed two or fewer goals in five of his seven starts last month, including one goal games against the London Knights and Plymouth Whalers to finish the month. The 18-year-old from Holland, Ohio is the OHL’s top goaltender this season with a 2.17 goals against average. He also has a .918 save percentage and 14-2-1-1 record in 21 appearances.
