Rockford, Ill.- Day Two of Rockford IceHogs training camp featured a pair of practice sessions on Monday at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Rockford’s second day of training camp included all active players on the team’s 2010 camp roster. When camp opened on Sunday, IceHogs’ coaches practiced all the training camp invitees and AHL contracted players.
The team held two 50-minute practice sessions during Monday’s full squad workout. Rockford’s training camp roster currently contains 16 forwards, 10 defenseman and three goaltenders.
The IceHogs will open exhibition play on Tuesday night at the Rockford MetroCentre against the Peoria Rivermen at 6:35 p.m. Rockford will skate in four overall preseason games this season, the most in franchise history.
To go along with Tuesday preseason game, Rockford will also hold a pregame morning skate at 10 a.m. at the MetroCentre. Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. Manitoba Moose. Game time is 4:35 p.m. The IceHogs begin the 2010-11 season against the Manitoba Moose and the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2010-11 IceHogs Magnet schedule courtesy of U.S. Cellular, Dental Dimensions, Guerilla Graffix and the Illinois Pork Producers. Before the game on Saturday there is a fan festival from 1-4 p.m. where fans can enjoy music, food, and entertainment.
