TORQUATO RECALLED FROM TOLEDO

Rockford, Ill. - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that center Zack Torquato has been recalled to the Rockford IceHogs from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye.

Torquato, 21, has skated in eight games for the IceHogs in 2010-11. Torquato is also currently tied for third on the Walleye with 44 points (11g-33a) in 54 games. His 33 assists lead the club.

The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native wrapped up a five-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) last season with the Erie Otters before signing an AHL contract with the IceHogs in July.

Over his five years in the OHL, Torquato competed in 330 games (Saginaw Spirit 2005-06, ‘06-07 and Erie Otters 2006-2010), amassing 134g-195a-339 pts.
