TOEWS RECALLED TO ROCKFORD

Toews David preseason
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have recalled forward David Toews from loan to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.

Toews, 21, appeared in three preseason games with the IceHogs this season, registering two assists before being assigned to Toledo three games into the campaign. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native shows nine points (2g-7a) in 24 contests with the Walleye this season.

In 2010-11, Toews tallied 48 points (20g-28a) in 60 games in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings.

The former third round pick (#66 overall) in 2008 by the New York Islanders spent two seasons with the University of North Dakota from 2008-10, recording nine goals and 17 points in 55 tilts.

Next Home Game: Monday, Jan. 16 vs. Texas Stars. Game time is 1:05 p.m. The IceHogs return home for the first time in over two weeks for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. matinee game to take on the Stars for the second and final time at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
