SVEDBERG HAS SUCCESSFUL SHOULDER SURGERY

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with the Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that defenseman Viktor Svedberg underwent successful shoulder surgery and is expected to return to hockey activities in four to five months.

Svedberg, 22, recorded nine points (2g-7a) for Rockford in 35 games during his first professional season in North America.

Prior to playing in Rockford the Goteborg, Sweden native spent two full seasons with Frolunda in the Swedish Hockey League. In 115 career games, the 6-8 defenseman registered seven points (3g-4a) from 2010 to 2013.

The defenseman was signed to a two-year contract by the Blackhawks on October 19, 2013.

Next Home Game: Tuesday, March 4 against Rochester Americans. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. It is a WXRX Dollar Day and all fans in attendance can receive $1 hot dogs, soft drinks, beers and companion tickets.
