STARS-BULLDOGS READY FOR GAME 7

Western Finals2010
Winner to take on Hershey in Calder Cup Finals

Hamilton, Ont.- It all comes down to one game in the American Hockey League’s Western Conference Finals between the Texas Stars and Hamilton Bulldogs. Tied at three games apiece, Game 7 is set for Wednesday night at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s game can be viewed through the AHL Live (ahllive.com) or can be heard on XM Satellite Radio on the all hockey NHL Home Ice Channel. NHL Home Ice can be found on XM 204 or on Sirius 208.

Texas forced a Game 7 when winger Aaron Gagnon notched an overtime game-winning goal in Game 6, pushing the Western Conference Finals to the limit. Wednesday’s Game 7 marks the second straight series in which Texas will play a Game 7. The Stars defeated the Chicago Wolves in Game 7 of the West Division Finals 6-5 in overtime on May 11.

Overtime isn’t out of the question for Wednesday’s Game 7 either as three of the six previous games in the Western Conference Finals have gone to extra hockey. Texas has won all three of their games in the series in overtime. All but one game in the series (Game 5, Hamilton 3-0 win) has been decided by one or two goals.

Wednesday’s Game 7 winner will go onto the Calder Cup Finals and face-off against the Eastern Conference Champion Hershey Bears. The Calder Cup Finals schedule will be announced following Wednesday’s Game 7 match-up between Texas and Hamilton.
