SMOLINSKI BOBBLEHEAD GIVEAWAY THIS FRIDAY

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs return from the All-Star break for a divisional showdown against the first-place Manitoba Moose on Friday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Friday’s tilt features a pregame party in the Blues Flame Lounge and a bobblehead giveaway of Oakland Athletics outfielder and Rockford native, Jake Smolinski.

Time: Puck drop is at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. Blues Flame Lounge opens at 5:15 p.m (Fans ages 21+).
Jake Smolinski Bobblehead: The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a free bobblehead of former Boylan Central Catholic High School standout, Jake Smolinski. The outfielder is the highest drafted baseball player in Northern Illinois Conference (NIC-10) history and became the first position player from Rockford to play in the Major Leagues in 72 years when he made his MLB debut with the Texas Rangers in 2014. Smolinski has since combined to hit .243 with 16 home runs in 215 career MLB games between the Texas Rangers (2014-15) and Athletics (2015-17).
Smolinski's bobblehead is the first of three giveaways in the "Our Town, Our Team" bobblehead series, which honors local stars who are currently playing professional sports at the Major League level. The bobblehead series will also feature Fred VanVleet of the Toronto Raptors (Feb. 17, presented by Rock Valley Culligan) and Dean Lowry of the Green Bay Packers (March 23, presented by Pepsi Zero Sugar).
Blues Flame Lounge Pregame Party (presented by Vintage @ 501): Fans ages 21 and older can kick-off their weekend festivities with a Pregame Party at the Blues Flame Lounge, located on the BMO Harris Bank Center concourse. Friday’s event begins with live music from Secret Serenade at 5:15 p.m. and will also feature free appetizers and happy-hour specials.
