"Shoot The Puck To Wrigley" Winter Classic Contest

Who/What: Approximately 100 youth hockey players from Chicago-area hockey rinks ranging in age from five to 17 will be given a chance to win tickets to NHL Winter Classic 2009 at Wrigley Field by playing the Blackhawks in-arena game, “Shoot the Puck.”

When: Sat., Dec. 6, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

Where: Midway Plaisance Outdoor Ice Rink (1130 N. Midway Plaisance in Chicago)

Event Information:

Similar to the Blackhawks in-arena “Shoot the Puck,” contest, the youth hockey players will have the opportunity to take a shot at the net from center ice or the blue line. There are two age categories, five to 11 and 12 to 17, of which two winners each will emerge (four total winners) and continue to the final round, which will be held during the game when the Blackhawks face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the United Center on Sun., Dec. 14. 2008.

One winner from each age category will win the ultimate prize of four (4) tickets each to NHL Winter Classic 2009; the opportunity to skate on the ice at Wrigley Field on January 3 and have the chance for Blackhawks players to visit their home rink next season.

The Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings will face off in NHL Winter Classic 2009 – the 701st all-time regular-season meeting between the franchises – at Wrigley Field on Jan. 1, 2009.
