Rockford, IL. - The Rockford IceHogs battled out a 2-1 win over the San Diego Gulls on Sunday inside the BMO Center.
After a scoreless first period, the Gulls found the back of the net in the opening two minutes of the middle frame. Nathan Gaucher snapped his shot into the top corner past Rockford's Owen Flores.
The IceHogs pulled even eight minutes later when Aidan Thompson located a rebound behind the Gulls' Tomas Suchanek.
San Diego's had plenty of chances in the 3rd period, but Flores stood tall in the Rockford crease.
While skating four-on-four, Ryan Mast's shot created a rebound that Brett Seney potted along the goal line with 2:35 for the 2-1 lead and the eventual game-winning goal.
Up next, the IceHogs host the Hershey Bears inside the BMO Center on Friday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. It's a $ beer and soft drink night presented by Bud Light. Tickets are available at icehogs.com.
