IceHogs announce details of Hawks Red and White Event

Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced details for the Chicago Blackhawks Red and White Event presented by Dental Dimensions. The event is slated for Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Rockford MetroCentre and will run from noon until 4 p.m.

Tickets for the Red and White Event go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13. Prices are $20 for the lower level and $15 for the upper level. Tickets can be purchased at the MetroCentre Box Office, by calling (815) 968-5222, at Hogs Headquarters inside CherryVale Mall or on the web at www.metrocentre.com.

“This is a phenomenal opportunity to have the Chicago Blackhawks kick off the 2008-09 season here in Rockford,” said IceHogs Team President Ryan Washatka. “Rockford is very much a part of Blackhawks nation and we are honored to have the Blackhawks showcase their entire roster here.”

The event will feature Chicago’s entire 2008 Training Camp Roster including 2007-08 NHL Rookie of the Year Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Martin Havlat and key free agent signings Brian Campbell and Cristobal Huet.

“I feel that this is a great opportunity for all of the IceHogs fans and all the Blackhawks fans in our area to come out and see firsthand how hard these players work during a day of training camp to get ready for the upcoming season,” said Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliates Mark Bernard. “We are extremely grateful that the Blackhawks have allowed us to host this day of training camp and this shows how strong their commitment is to having a successful relationship with Rockford.”

Doors will open at 11 a.m. for the event. The four-hour session will be broken into two, one-hour scrimmages and two, one-hour practices. The event marks the Blackhawks second official day of training camp.
