Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that defenseman J.C. Sawyer has been reassigned to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL).
Sawyer, 23, has appeared in four games for the Rockford IceHogs in 2009-10, chipping in an assist. In his third season, Sawyer has totaled 27 games with the American Hockey League club, scoring three goals and adding two assists.
Prior to getting recalled to Rockford, Sawyer was leading all ECHL defenseman with 16 points (5g-11a). Despite missing three games, Sawyer ranks second on the Walleye in scoring.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Nov. 28 vs. Abbotsford Heat. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs close out November with their final contest against the Heat in 2009-10. The first 1,500 fans to the game will receive a Jack Skille poster courtesy of Pepsi, FOX 39 and ESPN Radio 1380 AM.
