RUN WITH HAMMY ON SATURDAY
Rockford, Ill.- Hammy, the official mascot of the Rockford IceHogs, will be out cheering on participants at the State Street Mile on Saturday.
The 28th annual State Street Mile will begin at the entrance to SwedishAmerican Hospital on the corner of East State and Summit Streets in Rockford, with the races concluding on the State Street bridge. This year the proceeds from the event will benefit the Rockford Wildcats and the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford.
Hammy will be on hand greeting participants as they reach the finish line and celebrating at all the post-race festivities.
The following is a schedule of events:
4:45 P.M. 1-Mile Health Walk
5:15 P.M. Masters (Men & Women 40 years and older)
5:40 P.M. Ben Newson Jr. Female (Girls attending K-12 in fall 2012)
6:00 P.M. Ben Newson Jr. Male (Boys attending K-12 in fall 2012)
6:20 P.M. Open (Men & Women 17-39 years old)
6:45 PM Kids' Fun Run (12 years and younger - State Street Bridge)
7:00 PM Awards Ceremony (RACVB Post Race Festival area)
