Rockford Takes Preseason Finale in Milwaukee

Oct 03, 2025
Written By: Dana Grey

Milwaukee, WI - The Rockford IceHogs concluded their preseason slate with a 3-1 win vs. the Milwaukee Admirals on Friday night inside Panther Arena.

IceHogs goaltender Stanislav Berezhnoy got his first start in an IceHogs uniform and finished making 17 saves while playing the first 30 minutes of regulation. He and Milwaukee's Matt Murray kept the game scoreless until the middle stages of the 2nd period.

At 15:46 of the middle frame, Milwaukee's Cole O'Hara darted down the slot and deked to his forehand. The forward slid the puck past Rockford's Mitchell Weeks to give the Ads a 1-0 lead.

The Hogs responded quickly after earning their first power play of the night. Kevin Lombardi slung the puck from the far boards to near onto the stick of Ryan Gagnier. Waiting at the back post was first-year IceHog Connor Mylymok who deflected the tying goal home.

Back on the man-advantage, Gagnier took matters into his own hands and wristed in Rockford's second PPG from the far circle to give the Hogs a 2-1 advantage.

Weeks was strong down the stretch and allowed Lombardi to put the game on ice with an empty-net goal.

With the preseason finished, the IceHogs turn their attention to Saturday, October 11th's home opener. Tickets are available at icehogs.com for the 7:00 p.m. puck drop, but join the action outside the BMO early with the Opening Night Block Party which gets started at 4:00 p.m.
