Rockford Signs Forward Winquist to PTO
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs today announced they have signed forward Josh Winquist to a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO).
Winquist, 26, has skated in 26 ECHL games with Toledo this season, tallying 29 points (7g, 22a) and a +17 rating. He ranks third among Walleye skaters in assists and fourth in overall scoring, and his +17 rating is tied for the 10th-best mark in the entire ECHL entering Monday. The forward has also logged seven multi-point efforts on the campaign and picked up nine points (2g, 7a) over his last seven contests.
The St. Albert, Alberta native originally made his professional debut with the AHL's Oklahoma City during the 2013-14 season. He spent parts of each of the next five seasons in the AHL and has combined for 81 points (31g, 50a) and a +10 rating over 137 career AHL contests with Oklahoma City (2013-15), Bakersfield (2015-16), Bridgeport (2016-17) and Toronto (2017-18). He last skated in the AHL with the Marlies on April 15, 2018 vs. Belleville.
In addition, Winquist has also boasts better than a point-per-game average for his ECHL career with 113 points (34g, 79a) over 104 contests.
