ROCKFORD RECALLS BARNES FROM FUEL

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced on Wednesday that they have recalled right wing Tyler Barnes from their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.

Barnes, 26, appeared in one game with the Fuel since his assignment to Indy on Nov. 19, and recorded one goal and four assists for five points in a 6-5 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators. The 6-0, 198-lbs. forward has played in five games with Rockford this year, totaling five shots on goal. He signed an AHL contract with the IceHogs prior to the start of the 2016-17 season.

Before joining the IceHogs, Barnes spent the majority of each of the last two seasons at the ECHL level with Missouri (2015-16) and Toledo (2014-15). The Burnsville, Mich. native collected 135 points (58g-77a) in 140 games between the two clubs, and was named the 2014-15 ECHL Rookie of the Year with 74 points for the Toledo Walleye, setting a franchise record.

Barnes also skated for the University of Wisconsin from 2010-14, notching 101 points (45g-56a) in 152 games for the Badgers.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Nov. 23, vs. Cleveland Monsters. Game starts at 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Monsters for the second of four games in the 2016-17 season. Cleveland has notched victories in two of the last three meetings with Rockford. The contest marks the first Dollar Days and Fas Fuel Winning Weekdays game of the year.
