ROCKFORD OFFENSE SPUTTERS AS ADS BLANK HOGS

Recap 12 1 18

Connor Brickley and Alexandre Carrier tallied goals 2:49 apart from each other in the first period and Tom McCollum made 28 stops as the Milwaukee Admirals blanked the Rockford IceHogs 3-0 on Teddy Bear Toss Night Saturday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The IceHogs collected 3,373 bears to be donated to local charities during the second-intermission toss.

Rockford goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped 19 of 21 shots in the loss. Forsberg has allowed two or fewer goals in six of his seven AHL starts this season.

Brickley got Milwaukee on the board at the 15:06 mark of the opening period. The forward redirected a point shot from Filip Pyrochta past Forsberg’s blocker side.

Carrier’s follow-up tally came with 2:05 remaining in the stanza. Forsberg stopped Carrier’s initial shot from the slot, but the Milwaukee defenseman tapped home his own rebound.

The IceHogs pushed back in the second period, outshooting the Admirals 13 to 4 in the frame, but neither team would score until Justin Kirkland potted an empty-net insurance tally for Milwaukee with 1:23 remaining in the third period.

The IceHogs are now winless in their last six games at the BMO, tying a franchise-long home winless streak.
