Four games on the Week 19 slate for Rockford

Week 18 Recap
With the All-Star break behind the Rockford IceHogs, the American Hockey League club returned to the ice primed for the playoff stretch. The IceHogs played a pair of road games during Week 18, earning a split with its two closest division foes. Four games are slated for Week 19, including three at the Rockford MetroCentre.

Bacon Bits:

-Rockford has 30 games remaining on its 2007-08 regular season schedule and 20 of them will be played at home

-The IceHogs were whistled for a season low four minutes of penalty time on Friday in Peoria and the two teams combined for six PIMs overall

-On Saturday night in Chicago, the IceHogs were tagged for 85 PIMs and the two clubs accumulated 154 PIMs overall

-Rockford has home Tuesday and Thursday games schedule for Week 19

-In the IceHogs nine seasons, the club has only played one regular season Thursday home game and three on Tuesday

-The IceHogs have played 16 overtime and shootout games so far this season

-Of those 16 games, 12 of them have been played on the road

-Kris Versteeg leads the IceHogs with six shootout goals in ten attempts

-With Rockford’s 4-2 loss at Chicago on Saturday, the club’s franchise record streak of 15 consecutive road games without a regulation loss came to and end

-Rockford’s last regulation road loss came on Nov. 24 at Chicago and the IceHogs went 10-0-1-4 during that stretch

Hot Hog Week 18:
After getting returned to Rockford from Chicago, Kris Versteeg notched a pair of points in two games for Rockford during Week 18. Versteeg also chipped in a shootout goal in the IceHogs 2-1 shootout win over Peoria on Friday night.

Upcoming Games:
Tuesday, Feb. 5 vs. Houston Aeros. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Aeros meet on Fat Tuesday at the Rockford MetroCentre. Beads will be provided by Wireless One, Bud Light and Pepsi. The game is the first of two on the week between the West Division foes.

Thursday, Feb. 7 vs Manitoba Moose. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Manitoba returns to the MetroCentre for the final time this season. Thursday’s game was moved up two days from its originally scheduled date on Feb. 9 to accommodate a concert at the MetroCentre. The game is the fourth and final between the IceHogs and Moose.

Friday, Feb. 8 vs Houston Aeros. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Rockford and Houston meet up Friday night for the clubs final match-up in Rockford this season. The first 1,000 fans to the game will pick up an IceHogs Jersey Backpack. Friday is also Hammy’s Birthday as the IceHogs welcome the Milwaukee Brewers Racing Sausages and many other mascots to the MetroCentre. The Hogs and Aeros will meet up two more times this season, both in Houston.

Sunday, Feb. 10 at Quad City Flames. The game begins at 5:05 p.m. Rockford returns to the i-Wireless Center to take on the Flames. The game is the third of four on the road in Moline overall this season and six of eight on the season between the West Division clubs.

The IceHogs Broadcasting Network:
Rockford IceHogs fans can catch all of the IceHogs regular and post-season games on the Hogs flagship radio station Rockford’s Voice, WNTA-AM 1330 and 30 regular season games on ESPN Radio 1380-AM, WTJK. Fans can also watch and listen to the Hogs on the World Wide Web with the B2 Networks! Visit the IceHogs Web site (icehogs.com) and click on the “click here to watch the game live” icon, and for just $6, you can catch all of the IceHogs action on your computer. Also, fans with Insight Cable television can tune in to Channel 57 for all the IceHogs hockey action this season. The broadcast begins with the Pregame Show 30 minutes before the puck drops. Hog Talk Returns This Week At Cousin’s Bar and Grill:
Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin’s Bar and Grill! The show runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and is hosted by Jim Stone and Double T. Tonight’s show will feature IceHogs forwards Jake Dowell and Colin Fraser. IceHogs Assistant Coach Ted Dent will also be on hand. Come out to Cousin’s to enjoy some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it out to Cousin’s you can listen live on 1330AM WNTA.

Where to Watch the IceHogs:
IceHogs fans can now catch every IceHogs regular season game live on TV! Every IceHogs home game during the 2007-08 season can be viewed on Insight Cable Channel-57. When the IceHogs are on the road fans can watch them live at Damon’s Grill in Rockford. Fans can take advantage of great Bud Light specials and food specials at Damon’s Grill.
