11 non-contracted players invited to IceHogs camp
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manger of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that 11 non-contracted players have been invited to training camp for the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. IceHogs training camp is set to start on Sunday, Sept. 26 at the Rockford MetroCentre.
The camp invitees include five forwards, four defensemen and two goalies. The five forwards are Josh Beaulieu, Dustin Cameron, Matt Francis, Brian Kaufman and John Morea. The four defensemen are Brett Blatchford, Dallas Jackson, Scott Kalinchuk and Kyle Page. The two goalies include Danny Battochio and Jeremie Dupont.
There are seven IceHogs players under AHL contract for 2010-11 including Wade Brookbank who is currently attending Blackhawks Training Camp. Andy Bohmbach, Kyle Hagel, Peter Leblanc, Joe Palmer, Zack Torquato and Scott Fletcher are all also under AHL contracts with the IceHogs.
This year there are 18 players from the 2009-10 IceHogs team who are participating in the Blackhawks Training Camp. The players consist of eight forwards, seven defensemen and three goalies. The forwards include Kyle Beach, Bryan Bickell, Brandon Bollig, Evan Brophey, Jake Dowell, Rob Klinkhammer, Jack Skille and Ben Smith. The defensemen are Nick Boynton, Jonathan Carlsson, Brian Connelly, Jassen Cullimore, Simon Danis-Pepin, Shawn Lalonde and Ryan Stanton along with goalies Corey Crawford, Alec Richards and Hannu Toivonen.
Next Home Game: Saturday, Oct. 9 vs. Manitoba Moose. Game time is 4:35 p.m. The IceHogs begin the 2010-11 season against the Manitoba Moose and the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2010-11 IceHogs Magnet schedule courtesy of U.S. Cellular, Dental Dimensions, Guerilla Graffix and the Illinois Pork Producers. Before the game on Saturday there is a fan festival from 1-4 p.m. where fans can enjoy music, food, and entertainment.
