Preview 1 19
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Rockford IceHogs return the Quicken Loans Arena for a second straight matchup against the Cleveland Monsters on Friday night.
Puck drop is 6 p.m. and fans can tune in to all the action on Cozi TV 23.3 or Dish Network Channel 252, beginning with IceHogs Warmup at 5:30 p.m. IceHogs fans can also listen to the game at sportsfanradio1330.com or watch live at AHLlive.com (subscription required).
Matchup: The IceHogs (21-15-2-3, 3rd Central) boast a season-high six-game point streak entering tonight’s game and are 3-0-1-2 over that span since Jan. 6.
Rockford will play its final road contest of the series against the Monsters tonight having won just two of its last 11 regular season games in Cleveland. The Hogs are 2-7-1-1 at Quicken Loans in that span, and take the ice on Friday with an overall clip of 2-2-0-1 against the Monsters during the 2017-18 season.
Forward Tanner Kero continued his recent tear in Wednesday’s mathchup at Cleveland, tallying an assist for his ninth point (4g, 5a) in his last 10 games. Fellow Hogs forward Anthony Louis also chipped in with a goal on Wednesday and now enters tonight’s contest ranked second on the team with 23 total points (6g, 17a) on the year.
Goaltender Collin Delia earned a point for his fourth straight start after backstopping the IceHogs to an overtime and eventually shootout finish against the Monsters on Wednesday. Delia will take the ice with a 3-0-1 record and 124 combined saves during that streak.
Cleveland (12-19-3-3, 7th Central Division) won for just the third time in its last 11 games after defeating Rockford in a four-round shootout earlier this week. The Monsters feature the dynamic duo of Alex and Terry Broadhurst, who have combined for 11 points (4g, 7a) through the first five meetings of the 2017-18 series with the IceHogs. Alex Broadhurst is second among all Monsters skaters in points this season and has tallied seven of his 17 total points against Rockford.
Next Home Game: The IceHogs take on the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The contest marks another Fas Fuel Winning Weekday in 2017-18. If the Hogs win, tickets from Tuesday’s game can be redeemed for a ticket of equal or lesser value to the following Fas Fuel Winning Weekdays game on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
