Special designed uniforms will be modeled after Chicago Blackhawk's Winter Classic jerseys
LOVES PARK, Ill. – The Rockford RiverHawks are giving the shirts off their backs to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, this time with a decidedly Chicago hockey influence.
The RiverHawks will host the Florence Freedom at Road Ranger Stadium at 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 15 in one-time alternate jerseys inspired by the National Hockey League’s Chicago Blackhawks jerseys worn during the Winter Classic on Jan. 1, 2009. Fans will have a chance to bid on the jerseys following the game. Proceeds will go to the MDA.
Blackhawks first-round draft pick in 2005 Jack Skille, who has played for the Rockford IceHogs for the last two seasons, will make a special appearance at the game. Skille currently ranks second all-time on the IceHogs with 36 goals scored since the team joined the AHL. He is third in points with 79 and fourth in games played with 117.
Also that night, the Rockford IceHogs will host a season ticket holders night at the game as a special thank you to IceHogs season ticket holders who have bought tickets or renewed their seats for the 2009-10 season.
